Special Olympics is the world’s largest sports organization for people with intellectual disabilities, with more than 5.5 million athletes in 193 countries and more than 1.1 million coaches and volunteers. It is also a global social movement.
Special Olympics has worked with the TCBDD for more than 20 years. Its mission is to partner with the TCBDD and similar organizations to help encourage the community to get involved and, most importantly, to help people who may not be able to help themselves. Special Olympics also helps individuals to be active and involved with their peers, be a part of the community and foster inclusion.
We encourage you to attend one of the numerous events throughout the year where members of the community can participate as volunteers, attend a fundraiser or come to cheer on the Special Olympians in one of their events!
