TCBDD Preschool Vision

The TCBDD Fairhaven Preschool program’s vision is to provide positive experiences that support children and families, encourage growth and development leading to independence, and to help children reach their full potential.

Fairhaven Preschool provides education to children, ages 3-5, who receive services through an individualized education program (IEP) and those who do not. It is a full-day integrated program that runs five days per week unless there is a specified holiday or program day off.

In order to attend, we require that your child be completely toilet training for the upcoming school year, perhaps only needing help with fasteners and/or hygiene help by August 31st.

Fairhaven Preschool serves approximately 120 students and provides speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, hearing impairment services and vision/mobility services as determined necessary by a student’s IEP.

We supplement instruction with specialized programming, such as:

      • Swimming
      • Adaptive physical education
      • Developmentally appropriate playground
      • Sensory room
      • Gross motor development room
      • Goldie Blox program (preschool STEM for girls)
      • Jellybean Jamboree (mental health/social emotional)
      • Full-time nurses on staff

Students receive a well-balanced education where developmental and academic skills are enhanced. We work to learn how to cope with our emotions, how to share and take turns, how to color and draw, how to climb and run, and many other age-appropriate preschool skills. We also provide field trips, parent-teacher conferences, holiday programming, classroom parties and activities, and a preschool graduation ceremony. All students are provided nap time or quiet time at midday to help with the stamina needed for a full day of fun and learning. We provide snacks and hot lunch options daily.
